Summer Camp with Kenelm Youth Trust

3 members of the parish travelled to Alton Castle to participate in a 4 day spiritual retreat at Alton Castle, organized by the Kenelm Youth Trust.

From July 21st to 25th, experienced a unique blend of spirituality and adventure. Each day started with mass, setting a reflective and communal tone. Participants engaged in various prayer sessions and reflections, deepening their connection with God and fostering a sense of spiritual growth and community.

Throughout the retreat, they enjoyed challenging outdoor activities such as archery, abseiling, trekking, messy games, and crate stacking. On the final day, participants were also treated to a day trip to Alton Towers. These activities not only provided physical challenges but also promoted teamwork and personal development. Living in a 19th-century castle, the participants had a unique opportunity to bond and support each other while exploring their limits.

The castle’s natural surroundings offered a perfect backdrop for encountering Christ through nature. Participants engaged in team-building exercises and outdoor explorations, reinforcing their spiritual journey. The combination of structured spiritual activities and adventurous outdoor experiences made for a comprehensive and enriching retreat, leaving lasting memories and strengthened faith.
